| CASH-GAMES: On PartyPoker, the shorthanded (six-max) tables are much more popular than their tenhanded counterparts. In the limit hold'em section, it is relatively easy to find a table at your ideal stakes, even in the highest limits (interest drops sharply after $10-$20, but at least one table is usually available in each of the higher-stakes sections). As for no-limit hold'em, tables are very easy to find at most stakes up to $5-$10, from which point interest begins to fall drastically. The pot-limit hold'em section is basically vacant, with only the lowest-stakes seeing much traffic The Omaha section isn't much better than the pot-limit hold'em section. Limit Omaha is all but empty and only a handful of tables are occupied in the pot-limit Omaha section, mainly at the lowest stakes (and those are usually full or severely shorthanded). The story is much the same for seven-card stud as it is for Omaha. As stated before, PartyPoker is, more or less, a place for hold'em players with rare (if any) urges to play different variants. Nevertheless, hold'em players will be very satisfied. |

| TOURNAMENTS: Sit-and-gos are available in all of the variants that PartyPoker has to offer. Of course, you'd be hard-pressed to find a non-hold'em sit-and-go that actually fills up. PartyPoker is a hold'em haven, through and through. Hold'em sit-and-gos fill up at a relatively rapid pace for buy-ins up to $55, at which point interest flags. Speed sit-and-gos are very popular, particularly for high-buy-in tournaments, where they dominate their normal-speed counterparts. One unique offering at PartyPoker is "step" sit-and-go tournaments. These tournaments are reminiscent of sit-and-go satellites where the desired end-result is to win your way into a higher-buy-in tournament, but step tournaments work a bit differently. There are six levels of tournaments and players work their way up the levels through high finishes in the lower levels (or, of course, by buying in directly to the higher levels). As an example, if a player bought in to the $3 step 1 tournament, a first- or second-place finish would earn entry into step 2, a third- or fourth-place finish would gain them reentry into another step 1 sit-and-go, and fifth- through 10th-place finishes would result in a drop out of the steps. Steps are a good way to make a buy-in last a long time and are also a good way to get into high-buy-in sit-and-gos. However, players who qualify for the final few steps will need to have a lot of patience to wait (possibly for a day or more) for the tournaments to fill up. As for scheduled tournaments, PartyPoker may no longer offer its famous PartyPoker Million Sunday tournament, but it still has a good $300,000-guaranteed tournament in its place. Along with that tournament, PartyPoker has a complement of guarantee tournaments that range from $1,000-guaranteed to $50,000-guaranteed which run between Monday and Saturday. The site also runs "Super" weekday tournaments with $150+$12 buy-ins that usually generate prize pools of around $30,000. |
