Derjenige, der aus seinen zwei eigenen und den fünf offenen Karten die beste Fünf-Karten-Kombination bildet, gewinnt den den Gewinntopf (Pot). An einem Holdem Schule mit Regeln und Strategie tisch sitzen üblicherweise bis zu 10 Spieler. Ein Spiel kann aber auch schon früher beendet sein, wenn ein Spieler einen Einsatz bringt und daraufhin alle anderen aussteigen (Fold).
